Why opt for a natural and organic soap ?

Choosing natural and organic soap means taking an eco-friendly, environmentally responsible approach while favoring a natural cleanser that is good for the skin. A natural and organic soap is made only from oils or fats mixed with lye. The mixture of these two components then produces a kind of chemical reaction called “saponification.” This process can be carried out at home, with fully customized combinations based on your preferences, your skin type, and the properties you want to get from your soap: nourishing, exfoliating, moisturizing, etc.
Let’s look together at the differences between industrial and natural soap, the benefits of natural and organic soap, and a DIY recipe.
The differences between industrial soap and natural soap
The main difference between industrial soap and natural soap is the saponification process. As discussed in the introduction, saponification is a chemical reaction that makes soap possible.
- For a natural and organic soap, saponification is done cold (CP). This method of saponification helps preserve the soap’s benefits and virtues for longer. It does have one drawback: it takes longer than hot saponification (4 to 6 weeks of curing), which is partly why industrial soaps are less expensive. On the other hand, it is the most natural manufacturing process, because no chemical agents are used: it is a self-sufficient process, since all the benefits of the oils or fats are retained during the CP process.
- For industrial soap, saponification is done hot. This involves speeding up the chemical reaction for greater profitability. This hot process has many quality drawbacks, and industrial soaps are very often made with products such as EDTA or SLS (sodium laureth sulfate), which are synthetic ingredients.
The benefits of natural and organic soaps
The benefits of natural and organic soap will depend greatly on the type of oil or fat used in the soap. A natural soap made with coconut oil will have moisturizing properties, while a soap made with shea butter will have restorative benefits.
natural and organic soaps are suitable for all skin types: whether you have oily, combination, or dry skin, simply wash your body with a natural soap and your skin will regain its natural beauty. In addition, if you suffer from skin issues such as eczema or acne, natural soap will help a lot: better than an industrial soap loaded with harsh chemicals, natural soaps will help treat these skin problems and soothe redness, irritation, and itching.

1. Pour the water into the glass jar and dissolve the caustic soda in it
2. Melt the 85g of oil of your choice with the shea butter; then add the olive oil
