L’huile d’amande douce : ses actions et bienfaits

Sweet almond oil: its actions and benefits

Sweet almond oil is known for its nourishing and softening benefits for skin and hair. Used on baby skin, it helps even the most delicate skin regenerate and regain its suppleness. Likewise, if you have dull, brittle hair, applying almond oil toyour hair will help strengthen it.

The properties of sweet almond oil since Antiquity

Sweet almond oil is made up of particularly valuable ingredients, such as fatty acids and omega 6 and 9, vitamins 1 and E, minerals and trace elements, as well as terpenic alcohols and phytosterols. This blend of ingredients gives sweet almond oil protective and restorative properties. Since Antiquity, sweet almond oil has secured a privileged place in beauty rituals: thanks to its softening properties, Egyptian women used it to make ointments and skin creams.

Its benefits

Hydrating and protective, sweet almond oil is just as effective for skin as it is for hair. It brings them strength and shine, and soothes skin and scalp irritation and itching: it is excellent for soothing sensitive skin and scalps. Its nourishing benefits are especially helpful for dry skin: it also supports cell regeneration, making it a great natural anti-wrinkle treatment.

Sweet almond oil is suitable for all skin types, especially the delicate skin of babies.

Using sweet almond oil on the body

Sweet almond oil can be applied directly to fragile skin: on sunburn, burns, redness or chapping, using circular motions to help it absorb. If you want to exfoliate, you can add cane sugar to it. For a gentle moment of relaxation, feel free to add a few drops of sweet almond oil to your bath.

Using sweet almond oil on hair

Brittle, dry, dull, lifeless hair? almond oil on your hair will be especially beneficial: it will quickly become your best ally. A true miracle oil, it will bring shine and softness to your hair: as a mask or in shampoo, its uses on hair are limitless. The Irrévérence Nourishing Shampoo is, as its name suggests, a nourishing shampoo for hair: it provides the hair with the elements it needs for natural shine and radiance, thanks to almond protein, which is particularly known for strengthening hair weakened by heat-styling tools, coloring, and external aggressions. This shampoo is available in different sizes: 5L refill, 150ml or travel size (50ml).

If you want to make a mask, an almond oil hair treatment will be the best option for deep action. Leave the oil treatment on for 30 minutes, then rinse and apply your usual shampoo. For even better results, you can also add other vegetable oils such as coconut oil, castor oil or olive oil.

Using sweet almond oil on nails

The same goes for nails: our favorite oil can be used on brittle, weakened nails: an almond oil bath for your nails and they will regain their former strength and shine. To do this, soak your nails directly in sweet almond oil and let sit for five to fifteen minutes. You can then continue with your manicure routine. This way, your nails will be cared for and your manicure will be preserved and last longer.

Sweet almond oil is therefore an excellent restorative oil, whether for the body, face or hair.

Sweet almond oil is very popular: unfortunately, its success has harmed its reputation because of the many low-cost brands offering shampoos and masks made with sweet almond oil. In most cases, however, sweet almond oil was present only in small amounts, and the hair products did not live up to the promises made by these brands. To avoid disappointment, the best thing to do is turn to organic, cruelty-free and/or vegan hair care, which will ensure high-quality ingredients. With Terre de Mars, you will not have any unpleasant surprises when it comes to our products: certified by Ecocert Greenlife, all our cosmetic products are guaranteed to be natural and responsible.
