Our beauty tips for summer 2022

And there it is—summer is finally back. With the first rays of sunshine and the first warm days, our skin is not necessarily well prepared. Sun, salt water, sand—our skin won’t necessarily be as keen on lounging around as you are. So to make sure your holiday goes smoothly, TdeM shares its summer 2022 beauty tips.
Preparing your skin for the sun
Getting your skin used to the sun before exposing it to it in summer isn’t just a passing trend. Some people do it so they don’t look too pale on the beach, while others do it to give their skin antioxidants. So a few weeks before heading to the seaside or the mountains, it’s time to make a change to your diet. Carrots, melons, peppers, and tomatoes naturally provide carotene and tanning-boosting antioxidants. Well prepared, your skin will absorb the sun’s rays better. But don’t forget: sun protection is still essential.
Strengthen skin protection
With stronger sunlight and more intense heat, skin no longer reacts to the sun as it used to. Whether you’re at 2000 meters above sea level by a lake, stretched out on the beach, or simply sitting on a café terrace, sunburn is never far away. That’s why, in summer, it’s essential to protect your skin with sunscreen. Not sure which one to buy? Just check out our guide to the best natural sunscreens. Also, keep our basic advice in mind: choose a high-SPF sunscreen, reapply it regularly, and opt for a water-resistant formula if you’re by the sea.
Exfoliate for healthy skin
Among all our summer 2022 beauty tips, the one we recommend is exfoliating for healthy skin. A purifying scrub or TdeM revitalizing scrub, made with natural ingredients like coffee extract or aloe vera, will do you a world of good. This relaxing moment helps remove dead skin cells and stimulates your body’s blood and lymphatic circulation. Cleared of toxins, your skin looks even more radiant.
Stay well hydrated all day long
It can’t be said enough, but in summer it’s essential to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water, of course—about 2 liters a day—but also hydrate your skin. UV rays affect the cells of the dermis, which are made up of 80% water. Under the sun, the skin dries out, and a lack of hydration shows up as reduced firmness and sagging areas. That’s why it’s essential to increase hydration steps and/or opt for layering. In any case, our beauty tips for keeping skin well hydrated are as follows:
- Cleanse your skin in the morning with a hydrating lotion and a micellar water
- Use a lightweight serum as a base layer
- During the day, use a facial mist and spray water onto the skin
- Apply a mask in the evening when the skin is dry.
More than ever in summer, skin needs care. So during this time, since you’re on vacation, take the opportunity to relax and give yourself the beauty rituals you deserve.
