Ingredients
– 300g of carrots
- 300g of grated almonds
- 4 eggs
- 200g of sugar
- 60g of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- Half a lemon
- A pinch of salt
- Tools: a springform pan about 24cm
- A peeler
- A mixing bowl
- A citrus juicer
To make this cake, preheat your oven to 180°, then coat the pan with melted butter and flour so the cake releases easily. Turn the pan upside down to shake out any excess flour. Then peel the carrots and grate them. Add the lemon juice and zest to the grated carrots.
Beat the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy, then gently fold in the carrots, flour, almonds, salt, and baking powder. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and carefully fold them into the bowl. Pour the batter into the pan and bake the cake for 50 to 60 minutes at 180°. Once the cake is done, let it cool. And there you have it, your autumn recipe is ready to be served and enjoyed!
2. DIY autumn wreath
Wreaths are the perfect autumn DIY project. As stylish as it is original, you can play with the colors of your 100% natural autumn wreath... To make it, you'll need a pair of pruning shears, a 30 cm metal hoop, and a spool of wire. For the plant material, choose foliage in autumn colors, ivy, and colorful berries. Of course, there are several ways to make a wreath, so have fun with the plants!
First, take your metal hoop. Then cut the plants to about 20 centimeters long, and make bunches of ivy and mixed foliage to attach to the frame using wire. Place the branches in the same direction each time. Once you've covered the metal hoop, wrap the wire around the branches several times, then lift the leaves to hide the wire and the hoop. Finally, before adding the berries or other plants into the foliage, make sure everything is secured by turning the wreath over.
And there you have it, your autumn wreath is ready to be placed in the middle of a table or hung on a door. If you want to keep this autumn DIY project for a long time, keep it outdoors; the plants are preserved by the cold.
3. An original autumn DIY idea: the pumpkin vase
Autumn's stars, pumpkins are perfect for our kitchen, but also for decoration. Very pretty indoors and outdoors, the pumpkin vase is perfect for an autumn DIY project, and it won't take much to make. Cut off the top of a pumpkin and scoop it out. To slow the pumpkin's rot, wearing gloves, rub the inside with a cloth soaked in bleach. Place a plate at the bottom of the pumpkin before putting in a pot of autumn flowers. This plate will help hold any excess water. If you're using cut flowers, however, they need to be placed in a vase with water before being inserted into the pumpkin. This decoration is perfect for a special occasion or for a few days!
